Sectoral Advisory Board

The Sectoral Advisory Board is an advisory body established to support the development of SusdeX’s assessment and rating systems in a structure that is application-oriented, up-to-date, and aligned with sector realities. The Board consists of experts with experience in senior management, sustainability management, corporate governance, innovation, risk management, finance, production, technology, and business development across different sectors. In this way, in addition to the academic perspective, knowledge and experience obtained from sector practices are also effectively utilized in assessment processes.

The primary purpose of the Sectoral Advisory Board is to contribute to the development of the assessment and rating systems used by SusdeX in a manner that is aligned with the needs, expectations, and transformation dynamics of sectors. Rapid changes in the field of sustainability, new technologies, changing customer expectations, investor demands, and regulatory developments continuously reshape the risks and opportunities faced by sectors. The Board closely follows these changes and supports the preservation of the currency of SusdeX methodologies and the enhancement of their implementation effectiveness.

Among the duties of the Board are contributing to the identification of sector-specific risks, priorities, and performance indicators in environmental, social, and governance dimensions; examining the applicability of assessment criteria; proposing new indicators and assessment approaches in line with sectoral developments; and supporting the reflection of best practices in sustainability and innovation into the system. In addition, Board members contribute to strengthening the practical value creation capacity of SusdeX’s assessment systems by sharing knowledge regarding transformation processes experienced in different sectors.

The Sectoral Advisory Board reviews the alignment of the assessments conducted within the scope of the Corporate Sustainability System (CSS) and the Corporate Innovation System (CIS) with the operational realities of sectors. In this way, the development of approaches that will contribute to organizations in developing sustainability and innovation strategies capable of creating value not only theoretically but also in practice is supported. The Board contributes to making assessment systems more meaningful and useful from a business perspective by providing a sectoral perspective on the effects of sustainability performance on competitiveness, efficiency, cost management, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth.

The Sectoral Advisory Board is not responsible for determining rating results or making rating decisions. The primary role of the Board is to reflect sector experience into assessment systems, increase the applicability of methodologies, and provide strategic recommendations for the continuous development of SusdeX. Through this approach, while the independence of assessment processes is preserved, sector needs and expectations are systematically integrated into assessment models.

As one of the important components of the scientific organizational structure of SusdeX, the Sectoral Advisory Board contributes to the development of more effective, more applicable, and higher value-added solutions in the fields of sustainability and innovation by bringing the experience and knowledge of the business world into assessment systems. Thus, through its strong governance structure that brings together academic knowledge and sector experience, SusdeX is able to guide organizations more effectively in their sustainable transformation processes.
